Hello everyone! My name is Timothy Lee Bechtel and I am so excited to start this journey that is the World Race. I am from Macon, Georgia, but currently live in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I graduated in May of 2021 with my Bachelor degree in Youth and Family Ministries from Champion Christian College. I am currently the College Chaplain and teaching at Champion.

My hobbies include playing guitar, singing, making and drinking coffee, and hanging out with friends. One of the most special things that I get to do with my job is making friends and getting to invest my life with the students here at Champion.

I was born and raised in Macon, Georgia with parents that taught me to love God from an early age. My mom (Alesia Faye Bechtel) and dad (Timothy Lee Bechtel Sr.) are the youth pastors at my home church in Fort Valley, Georgia. I was able to have their love and guidance in very crucial times in my life that led me to lean more on God’s understanding rather than my own. I dedicated my life to Christ’s ministry in the summer of 2015 and boy did He guide me to things that I never thought I could have the chance to experience. I have one sister (Kalynn) and she has been one of my biggest supporters in life.

In 2019, God put missions on my heart by opening my eyes to what people around the world need. He has opened this opportunity for me to build the foundations of that calling. Now I am 23 years old, learning so much from my mentors and understanding that even though I fall short, God’s love is there to pick me up and show me my worth every time. I know that He will use this trip to reveal different things around me that I have always been somewhat blind to. I would love to have you come along side me in this journey and see what awesome things God will continue to do.

  5. This post brought me to tears, I am beyond happy and amazed at what you’ve become, and am very excited to see what else you’ll be able to accomplish. You’re gonna do great, being a beacon of love, strength, and hope for others, cause that’s just who you are. You might be my cousin, but I’ve always loved you like a brother. Go show them God’s work, just by being you, Leebo
